Silkbind Faerie taps an untapped creature at the cost of untapping itself — a repeatable pseudo-removal effect stapled to a 1/3 flier for three mana. The setup cost is real, but in any deck that generates untap triggers or abuses tap abilities, it punches well above its mana cost.

Silkbind Faerie is a Commander card first and foremost — the tap-to-untap loop is most exploitable in a 100-card singleton format where untap synergies and tap-based combos are plentiful. In Pauper it's technically legal and the common slot makes it accessible, but three mana for a conditional tapper competes poorly with more efficient answers in that format. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters; the effect is too slow and too fragile for those environments. Commander is where Silkbind Faerie earns its slot, specifically in Bant or Azorius tap-matters builds where locking down blockers or stalling a problematic creature repeatedly is worth the setup.

Price Context
Current price
$0.15 bulk tier
At $0.15, Silkbind Faerie is deep bulk — you'll find it in a commons box before you need to order it. The price is stable at the floor and unlikely to move unless a high-profile Commander build breaks a tap-untap combo around it.
