Siege Rhino enters, drains each opponent for 3, and leaves behind a 4/5 with trample — that's 9 life swung across a three-player pod before it ever attacks. Four mana for that rate is fair in any format and outright backbreaking in Commander.

In Commander, Siege Rhino's drain trigger hits all three opponents simultaneously, turning a single ETB into a 9-point life swing — that's the reason to play it. In Modern and Pioneer it saw serious competitive play in Abzan midrange shells, where the combination of a resilient body and guaranteed life loss on entry made it a staple threat. Legacy has enough broken interaction that a vanilla 4/5 rarely survives long enough to matter, so Siege Rhino sits at the fringe there. Oathbreaker works similarly to Commander at smaller scale, and the drain is still efficient enough to justify the slot in any black-white-green list.
