Sibsig Icebreakers puts a 4/3 body on the board and makes each opponent discard a card — reasonable rate for a five-mana black creature in a multiplayer context. The catch is that it's a one-shot effect on a vanilla-statted body, so it only earns a slot when you can recur it or your deck specifically wants bodies in the graveyard.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Sibsig Icebreakers scales well because the discard hits every opponent simultaneously, turning a single trigger into three discards at a table of four — that's where it earns its slot. Outside of multiplayer, the math falls apart: in Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, and Vintage, paying five mana to strip one card from one opponent is too slow and too replaceable to see real play. Pauper is the one non-Commander format worth mentioning, where a 4/3 at common with an enters-the-battlefield effect can pull weight in reanimator or graveyard-value shells, though the mana cost still limits it to slower strategies.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Sibsig Icebreakers is deep bulk — you're not buying it so much as finding it in a common box. Demand is narrow enough that there's no realistic price floor to breach, so pick up copies freely and don't expect them to appreciate.
