In Commander, Shrouded Shepherd // Cleave Shadows is a fringe role-player — the front face is a fine blocker in white go-wide or flicker shells, but a 3/3 for three with no enters-the-battlefield effect rarely makes the cut in a 99 competing with stronger options. The back face, Cleave Shadows, has niche appeal in decks that care about evasion manipulation or shadow synergies, though shadow as a mechanic has near-zero support in the format. In Standard and Pioneer it occupies a similar slot: playable in aggressive white flier strategies when you need bodies that also provide board interaction, but not a priority pick. Legacy and Vintage have no interest — the rate doesn't come close to competing at those power levels.
