Shrine of Burning Rage converts every red spell you cast into a growing damage threat, then cashes out for potentially 20+ damage in a single activation. Three mana to deploy and one mana to detonate makes the total investment trivial relative to the ceiling.

In Commander, Shrine of Burning Rage is a slow-burn payoff that rewards red-heavy spell strategies — it fits naturally in decks that cast enough red spells to charge it past 10 counters before opponents can answer it, making it a pet card in Mono-Red storm and spell-slinger builds. In Modern and Legacy, the card was a legitimate threat in aggressive red strategies around the time those formats had fewer fast answers, but the current card pool has largely left it behind — Eidolon of the Great Revel and Light Up the Stage do more immediate work at similar costs. Vintage is legal but irrelevant; Shrine of Burning Rage is far too slow for that format's pace.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Shrine of Burning Rage is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. It's been printed multiple times and demand is low, so that price is a floor with nowhere meaningful to go.
