Shinen of Life's Roar forces every creature an opponent controls to block it — a forced-block engine stapled to a 1/1 for two mana with channel backup. General Marhault Elsdragon turns that into a free trample pump for your whole team, making this one of the most efficient political weapons in green.

General Marhault Elsdragon
General Marhault Elsdragon gives +1/+1 to each of your attacking creatures for every blocker assigned to them, so Shinen of Life's Roar pulling every enemy creature into one block translates directly into a massive power spike across your board — often lethal on the spot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|

| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Shinen of Life's Roar is a niche card with a very specific home: forced-block and rampage strategies where directing the flow of combat is the whole game plan. In Pauper it's legal but too narrow — combat tricks at common rarely justify a slot unless the entire deck is built around them. Legacy and Vintage can access it but never will; the effect doesn't scale to those formats' threat density. The channel ability gives it a floor of usefulness even when the body is irrelevant, which is the main reason Shinen of Life's Roar stays relevant at all outside Commander.

Price Context
Current price
$0.60 bulk tier
At $0.60, Shinen of Life's Roar is deep bulk — you're paying for the effect, not the cardboard. It's unlikely to appreciate given how narrow the payoff pool is, but at this price it costs almost nothing to include in any deck that can actually use it.
