Shieldhide Dragon gives a creature hexproof and lifelink until end of turn for four mana, then cycles itself for two — it protects a key piece in a pinch and replaces itself so you're not down a card. Seven mana total for a one-shot effect with no board presence is a steep ask, and almost every competitive shell has better options.

Shieldhide Dragon is a Commander card in the loosest sense — the cycling keeps it from being a pure blank, and dragon-tribal lists running Sarkhan or Ur-Dragon sometimes include it for redundancy. Outside of Commander, the card sees essentially zero play: Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, and Vintage all have access to far more efficient hexproof and lifelink effects, and the seven-mana activation ceiling makes Shieldhide Dragon uncompetitive in any faster format. Even in Commander, it occupies a marginal slot that most optimized 99s can't afford.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Shieldhide Dragon is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not demand. That price is stable purely because the floor exists, not because anyone is buying in.
