Sharpshooter Elf turns every creature you control into a repeatable pinger — tap it to deal 1 damage to any target, untap it whenever any creature dies, and the machine runs as long as things are dying. Three mana for a potentially infinite damage engine is an absurd rate; the only real cost is that it needs bodies on board to feed the loop.

Commander is where Sharpshooter Elf does its best work — Elf tribal shells and sacrifice-based strategies both give it a constant stream of dying creatures to untap off, and in those decks it frequently doubles as a combo finisher. Legacy and Vintage are legal homes on paper, but the card is too slow and fragile for those formats without a dedicated Elf combo shell to hide it in. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-card-adjacent format where it can show up, again only in aggressive Elf builds.

Price Context
Current price
$0.26 bulk tier
At $0.26, Sharpshooter Elf is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. That price is stable; the card sees enough casual Commander demand to keep it from bottoming out further, but there's no pressure driving it upward.
