Sergeant-at-Arms enters as a 2/2 and immediately creates two 1/1 Soldier tokens with vigilance — three bodies for three mana is a real rate in any token or go-wide strategy. The kicker cost is steep, but the floor is solid enough to run without it.

In Commander, Sergeant-at-Arms is a budget staple for Soldier tribal and white go-wide decks — three bodies at three mana is above rate, and the vigilance tokens play well with tap-based payoffs. Pauper is where it sees the most competitive daylight, slotting into white weenie and token lists that want consistent two-drop-through-three-drop curves. Modern and Pioneer have enough efficient token generators that Sergeant-at-Arms doesn't crack main decks, but it's a reasonable budget substitute in casual builds. Legacy and Vintage don't want it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Sergeant-at-Arms is pure bulk — pick up as many copies as you need without a second thought. Bulk commons rarely spike unless a new Soldier commander drives demand, so don't expect the price to move.
