Serendib Sorcerer turns any creature you control into a 0/2 until end of turn — a repeatable, tap-to-activate shrink effect that neutralizes attackers or defangs blockers on demand. The cost is real: three mana and a tap to borrow the effect for one turn only.

In Commander, Serendib Sorcerer occupies a narrow role as a tap-down deterrent in blue creature-based strategies — useful if your game plan survives long enough to threaten combat locks, but too fragile and mana-hungry to compete with more efficient interaction. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest; both formats move too fast for a three-mana 1/1 whose ability costs two more mana to activate. Modern has the same problem at a slower pace — there are cheaper, more permanent answers to creatures. Serendib Sorcerer is essentially a Commander-only card by default, and even there it earns a slot only in dedicated tap-abuse or untap-combo shells.

Price Context
Current price
$0.32 bulk tier
At $0.32, Serendib Sorcerer is deep bulk — the price reflects both its narrow application and low demand. Don't expect it to appreciate; it sees play in too few decks to create meaningful upward pressure.
