Sensor Splicer card art
Sensor Splicer enters and immediately puts a 1/1 Golem token with vigilance onto the battlefield, then pumps every Golem you control — a two-for-one that scales hard with token doublers and recursive loops. The five-mana cost is real, but in Brenard, Ginger Sculptor builds that copy every creature that dies, or alongside Nim Deathmantle loops, that entry fee pays off fast.

Brenard, Ginger Sculptor

Brenard, Ginger Sculptor

61.2% of decks · synergy 0.59

Brenard, Ginger Sculptor converts every dying nontoken creature into a Golem copy, which means Sensor Splicer's enter-the-battlefield trigger fires again and again — each new Golem also lands a fresh +1/+1 counter on the whole board.

02

Elesh Norn

26.7% of decks · synergy 0.26

Elesh Norn decks lean on wide boards of small creatures, and Sensor Splicer slots in as both a token producer and a passive anthem that stacks with Elesh Norn's own symmetrical power boost.

Commander is where Sensor Splicer actually earns its slot — Golem tribal and artifact-creature token strategies give it a real home, and the vigilance rider on the token matters more in a multiplayer game where blocking every turn is survival. In Pauper it's legal but competes with more efficient token producers at the same cost, so it only shows up in dedicated Golem shells. Legacy, Vintage, and Modern see none of it; five mana for a 1/1 plus a conditional anthem doesn't clear the bar in those formats. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander calculus — fine in the right strategy, invisible everywhere else.

Price Context

Current price

$0.21 bulk tier

At $0.21, Sensor Splicer is deep bulk — you'll pull it from a common box or grab a playset without noticing the cost. There's no pressure holding that price up, so it won't climb unless a new Golem commander spikes demand.
