Selesnya Signet converts one mana and one green or white mana into a permanent mana source — two mana in, two mana out every turn after, with color fixing baked in. The two-mana activation cost is the only real friction, and in Commander that friction disappears by turn two; Felothar the Steadfast lists run it at a 44% clip for exactly this reason.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Felothar the Steadfast
Felothar the Steadfast runs a high density of permanents and rewards you for playing them early, making the reliable turn-two Selesnya Signet a natural fit that accelerates into the four- and five-drop threats the deck wants online by turn three.

Jasmine Boreal of the Seven
Jasmine Boreal of the Seven cares about vanilla and french-vanilla creatures, but the deck still needs to cast them on curve — Selesnya Signet provides the green-white fixing that lets Jasmine Boreal of the Seven hit its color requirements without sacrificing a land drop.

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
Trostani, Selesnya's Voice wants to hit four mana as fast as possible to start triggering life gain and populate, and Selesnya Signet is one of the cleanest ways to bridge turns two and four in a two-color shell.

Arcades, the Strategist
Arcades, the Strategist is technically three colors but leans heavily on green and white for its defender package, so Selesnya Signet covers the bulk of the color demands while freeing blue sources for Arcades itself and the draw triggers.

Atla Palani, Nest Tender
Atla Palani, Nest Tender needs three mana on turn three and then wants additional mana to keep making Eggs, and Selesnya Signet smooths both asks without competing for the creature slots the deck needs to populate its board.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Selesnya Signet earns its keep — two-color mana fixing on a permanent that curves out turn two is exactly what green-white decks want, and the 99-card singleton format means you take every reliable source of it. In Pauper it's legal and occasionally sees play in slower green-white decks that need artifact-based fixing, though Nature's ramp options compete hard at common. Legacy and Vintage are theoretically legal homes, but no competitive shell there wants a do-nothing artifact that takes a full turn to activate when fetchlands and dual lands already solve the mana problem. Selesnya Signet's power is entirely a Commander story.

Price Context
Current price
$0.80 bulk tier
At $0.80, Selesnya Signet sits in bulk-rare territory and is widely available — this is a card you pick up as an afterthought, not a purchase you plan around. The price is stable; demand is steady from Commander players but never spikes because supply from numerous printings keeps it perpetually cheap.
