Selective Snare bounces every creature of a chosen creature type an opponent controls — plural, at once — for two mana. Against tribal decks it's a blowout; against anything else, it ranges from mediocre to dead.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Selective Snare is a Commander card almost exclusively. The format's tribal density — Goblins, Elves, Slivers, Zombies, Dragons — gives it real targets at most tables, and the tempo swing of bouncing five creatures for two mana can buy a full turn against a go-wide tribal attacker. In Modern and Legacy the card sees essentially no play: non-rotating formats already have efficient spot and mass removal that doesn't require the opponent to be on a matching tribe. Pioneer and Vintage are the same story. Commander is where Selective Snare earns its slot, specifically as a cheap answer to the tribal decks that would otherwise steamroll a wide-open board.

Price Context
Current price
$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Selective Snare is deep bulk — you'll find it in a common box or a dollar bin, not eating into any budget. That price is stable because demand is narrow: it's only ever a roleplayer in Commander, so there's no pressure pushing it up.
