Seekers' Squire
Creature — Human Scout
When this creature enters, it explores. (Reveal the top card of your library. Put that card into your hand if it's a land. Otherwise, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature, then put the card back or put it into your graveyard.)

Seekers' Squire is a two-mana 1/2 that replaces itself on entry via the explore mechanic — either putting a land into your hand or putting a +1/+1 counter on itself and binning the top card. Solid floor, no ceiling; it's a fine inclusion in graveyard or +1/+1 counter synergy decks but doesn't move the needle anywhere else.

In Commander, Seekers' Squire earns a slot almost exclusively in decks that want bodies exploring repeatedly — Meren of Clan Nel Toth, Lathril, Blade of the Elves, or any deck leaning on +1/+1 counter synergies and graveyard recursion. In Pauper it sits in the same niche: black-green explore shells that loop cheap creatures for incremental value. Modern and Pioneer have moved well past it — the explore payoffs available at two mana in those formats set a higher bar than Seekers' Squire clears. Legacy and Vintage don't give it a second look.
