Seed of Hope card art
Seed of Hope puts a land directly onto the battlefield and draws a card — two of the most valuable actions in Commander — for two mana at instant speed. It's a strict upgrade over most three-mana sorcery ramp in green, and any deck that wants land-into-hand at instant speed should be running it.

In Commander, Seed of Hope earns its slot by doing two things at once: it fixes your mana and replaces itself, which is exactly what two-mana ramp should do in a singleton format where consistency is hard to come by. Pauper is the other format where it genuinely competes — commons that replace themselves at instant speed are disproportionately strong there, and the land-to-battlefield clause means it doesn't lose tempo the way pure cantrips do. In Modern, Legacy, and Vintage, the bar for two-mana ramp is higher and the competition is stiffer, so Seed of Hope sits on the fringe outside dedicated landfall or land-matters builds. Pioneer is its most marginal home — playable in budget or casual builds, but rarely a first pick.

Price Context

Current price

$0.25 bulk tier

At $0.25, Seed of Hope is firmly bulk, and that price is unlikely to spike given its casual-focused application and lack of competitive demand. You're getting real functional value for almost nothing — pick up copies freely.
