Sedge Troll is a regenerating 2/2 with first strike for three mana — serviceable stats in 1993, well below rate in any current format. The Swamp dependency for regeneration makes it awkward outside dedicated Rakdos or mono-black shells, and even there, better options exist at every point on the curve.

Sedge Troll is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but legal and playable are different words. In Commander, a 2/2 first striker with conditional regeneration does nothing at a 100-card table where threats scale into the stratosphere by turn four. Legacy and Vintage have access to the full card pool, which means Sedge Troll is competing against threats that win games on the spot — it doesn't make the cut. Oathbreaker is the one context where a narrow tribal or Swamp-matters build might find a home for it, but even then it's a nostalgia pick more than a competitive one.
