Season of Renewal puts two permanents back from your graveyard to your hand for three mana at instant speed — that's the whole pitch, and it's a reasonable one. Two-for-one recursion at instant speed is a real rate; the catch is that three mana for hand-rebuying (rather than direct reanimation) makes it a support piece, not a closer.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

Commander is where Season of Renewal earns its keep — the long game means your graveyard fills up, and instant-speed recovery at the end of an opponent's turn is genuinely useful in a pod where interaction runs hot. In Pauper it's legal and the two-for-one at common rarity is notable, though more efficient graveyard staples crowd the slot. Legacy, Modern, and Vintage are too fast for a three-mana do-nothing-to-the-board instant; those formats won't touch it. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander's logic in miniature, so the same slow-value argument applies.

$0.23 bulk tier
At $0.23, Season of Renewal is deep bulk — you're paying almost nothing for the effect. Bulk commons and uncommons at this price point don't appreciate; pick it up for a few cents in a trade binder and don't think twice about the cost.
