Scrapdiver Serpent is a 7/5 that becomes unblockable whenever any artifact is in a graveyard — a condition that's almost always met by the time you're casting a seven-mana creature. The cost is the problem: seven mana for a vanilla-sized beater with no enter-the-battlefield effect and no evasion built in is simply too slow for most tables.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

In Commander, Scrapdiver Serpent finds its narrowest viable home in artifact-heavy decks — think Breya, Etherium Shaper or Daretti, Scrap Savant — where the graveyard condition is live from turn two and the Serpent closes games in the air. Outside of dedicated artifact strategies, seven mana competes with actual threats that generate value on cast. In Pauper, it's technically playable as a finisher in Affinity shells, but the format has faster, more efficient closes. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a seven-mana do-nothing at cast; Scrapdiver Serpent doesn't show up there.

Current price
$0.20 bulk tier
At $0.20, Scrapdiver Serpent is deep bulk — you'll find copies in any common box at your local store for less than the shipping cost of ordering one. There's no reason for the price to move; demand is narrow and supply is plentiful.
