Scour for Scrap nets you two artifacts from your graveyard the moment it resolves — that's the whole pitch. The cost is real in decks that aren't already discarding or sacrificing artifacts, but in Mm'menon, the Right Hand shells built around feeding the bin, it's a free reload.

Mm'menon, the Right Hand
Mm'menon, the Right Hand runs a constant artifact-in, artifact-out loop, and Scour for Scrap is the recovery spell that snaps two pieces back from the graveyard in one shot — exactly what the engine wants after a sacrifice cycle.

Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor
Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor triggers off artifacts entering the battlefield, so Scour for Scrap returning two at once is effectively two triggers stapled to a single spell.

Jhoira, Ageless Innovator
Jhoira, Ageless Innovator cares about historic spells and recurring artifacts to keep the chain alive; Scour for Scrap is a cheap historic spell that also reloads two pieces, doing double duty in the engine.

Urza, Lord Protector
Urza, Lord Protector decks run so many artifacts that the graveyard fills fast, and Scour for Scrap gives a cheap on-demand way to claw back two of them without burning a dedicated tutor slot.

Inspirit, Flagship Vessel
Inspirit, Flagship Vessel builds wide artifact boards, and Scour for Scrap provides the redundancy insurance — when a wrath clears the table, two artifacts come straight back for two mana.

In Commander, Scour for Scrap earns its slot in dedicated artifact decks where the graveyard is already stocked by turn four or five — it's too parasitic to run as generic value, but as a rebuy spell in the right shell it overperforms its cost. In 60-card competitive formats like Modern and Pioneer, the effect is too slow and conditional to see serious play; artifact recursion at two mana has stiffer competition from pieces that also advance the board state on their own. Legacy and Vintage have access to faster, more explosive recursion lines that make Scour for Scrap irrelevant there. Standard is the one context where, during any artifact-matters environment, it could briefly see fringe play as a budget option.

$0.39 bulk tier
At $0.39, Scour for Scrap is deep bulk — you're paying for the cardboard, not the effect. Bulk rares stay bulk; don't expect movement unless a future artifact commander drives mass demand.
