In Commander, Scorch Spitter is a role-player in aggro-ping shells — the multiplayer damage multiplier makes it punch above its mana cost, and it combos cleanly with commanders who reward repeated damage triggers. In Pauper it's too slow and too small to matter; one damage a turn doesn't close games in a format built around efficient interaction and fast combo.
