Savage Knuckleblade hits the table as a 4/4 for three mana across three colors, and every activation — pump, trample, haste, bounce for reuse — is powered by the same Gruul mana engine that makes Selvala, Heart of the Wilds tick. Three mana, four power, four relevant abilities: the cost is a tight color requirement, not the stats.

Savage Knuckleblade is a Commander card — the format's mana fixing and abundance of green ramp make the GUR cost manageable, and the bounce activation gets real value in decks that reward creatures entering the battlefield. In competitive 60-card formats, it never found a foothold: Modern and Pioneer have moved past three-mana creatures that don't immediately affect the board or protect themselves from interaction, and the color requirement is punishing in non-Temur shells. Legacy doesn't want a 4/4 that needs three mana worth of activations to threaten the opponent. Knuckleblade's home is squarely in Commander, where a resilient, self-bouncing threat with built-in haste and trample has room to breathe.

$0.41 bulk tier
At $0.41, Savage Knuckleblade is bulk — it sees narrow enough play that supply has always outpaced demand. There's no pressure on that price; pick it up without hesitation if a Temur build calls for it.
