Satyr's Cunning makes a 1/1 red Satyr token with haste for one mana, and its escape clause means you can do it again from the graveyard for two mana and exiling five cards. It's a fine token-on-demand for decks that care about sacrifice fodder or incremental board presence, but the escape cost is steep enough that you're rarely casting it more than twice.

In Commander, Satyr's Cunning slots cleanly into Jund or Rakdos sacrifice shells that want cheap, repeatable token generation — the escape clause gives it late-game relevance that most one-mana token spells lack. Pauper is where it sees the most competitive play, fueling red aggro and token-sacrifice synergies at common rarity with almost no competition at that price point. In Modern and Pioneer it's too low-impact to compete for slots, though niche Goblin or aristocrats builds might find the escape recursion occasionally useful. Legacy and Vintage have better options at every step, so it doesn't register there.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Satyr's Cunning is pure bulk — you're buying it out of a commons box, not tracking it on a market. Bulk commons rarely move on price, so there's no pressure to acquire it now or later; it'll cost the same either way.
