In Commander, Sandblast is fringe — the combat restriction means it whiffs against combo and control entirely, and white has unconditional options like Swords to Plowshares at the same price point. Pauper is where Sandblast earns real consideration, since the commons pool is tighter and trading two mana for a creature in combat is a legitimate tempo play.
