Samut, the Tested is a four-mana planeswalker who doubles strike on a creature, pings for damage, or fetches two creatures from your library — all on a body that starts at five loyalty and survives most board states. The ceiling is high when you're tutoring a combo piece alongside a haste enabler, but the cost is that you're spending your entire turn four on a card that doesn't win the game by itself.

In Commander, Samut, the Tested earns a slot in Naya, Gruul, or four- and five-color creature-combo decks that want the minus-seven as a two-card tutor — finding two creatures at instant speed is genuinely powerful when you're assembling a combo or a lethal attack. Competitive Commander generally ignores her; four mana for a planeswalker that doesn't immediately lock the game is too slow when the table is threatening wins on turns three and four. In Pioneer and Modern she's a fringe consideration at best — creature-based combo decks have faster engines and more reliable tutors, and a five-loyalty walker at four mana doesn't stabilize a board the way control or midrange needs. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest.
