Sagu Pummeler

In Commander, Sagu Pummeler is a role-player at best — hexproof and trample matter in a format full of targeted removal, but a vanilla 6/6 with no enters-the-battlefield effect and no way to close a game quickly gets outclassed by the time you untap with it. Outside Commander, it doesn't register: six mana for a do-nothing threat is unplayable in Pioneer, Modern, and Legacy, where the format has moved far past the point where raw stats on a slow threat win games. Standard legality is technically on the table, but the card has never been competitively relevant there either. This is a Commander-only conversation, and even in that context it belongs only in decks that specifically reward hexproof creatures or pump them past the point where a 6/6 feels underwhelming.
