Sage of Days lets you untap permanents by taking extra turns — the payoff is real, but it costs you your next turn to do it, which is a steep price in a multiplayer game. Run it only if you're already chaining turn effects and can close before the table catches up.

In Commander, Sage of Days is a niche piece for dedicated extra-turns builds — it rewards you for doing what those decks already want to do, but the self-bounce clause means you need a critical mass of turn spells to make the untap effect worth the slot. In 60-card formats like Modern and Legacy, the effect is too slow and the condition too restrictive to compete with dedicated untap or extra-turn payoffs. Pauper is where Sage of Days is technically available but practically irrelevant — the archetype doesn't exist at common depth. Stick to Commander if you're building around it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.04 bulk tier
At $0.04, Sage of Days is deep bulk — a zero-risk pickup if the effect fits your build. Bulk rares with narrow applications like this one rarely climb without a breakout combo discovery, so don't expect the price to move.
