Sage-Eye Avengers

Sage-Eye Avengers lives almost exclusively in Commander, where the game's slower pace and longer turns give you repeated opportunities to trigger the bounce ability across multiple opponents. In competitive formats like Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer, a six-mana creature that doesn't win the game immediately doesn't see play, and the tempo requirement of sequencing spells in ascending cost order is nearly impossible to satisfy in those faster environments. In Commander, it fits best in Jeskai or other blue-based spellslinger decks that naturally want to chain instants and sorceries at varying costs — the bounce becomes both interaction and card advantage when you're returning opponents' best permanents turn after turn.
