Sabertooth Outrider enters swinging — a 3/3 with trample that gives any creature you cast afterward a temporary trample bonus for the turn, which means your whole board gets a meaningful keyword for exactly the cost of sequencing your spells through it. At four mana for a vanilla-statted creature whose effect vanishes at end of turn, it's a role-player at best, not a cornerstone.

Sabertooth Outrider is a Commander card in the loosest sense — it fits in go-wide green decks that want to push damage through blockers, but four mana for a 3/3 with a fleeting trample-granting trigger is a hard sell when permanent trample enablers exist at the same or lower cost. In Pauper it's technically playable, but green aggro at common has better options that don't ask you to keep sequencing spells to get value. Competitive formats like Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy don't have room for it — the rate is too low and the effect too conditional. This is a casual Commander inclusion, full stop.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Sabertooth Outrider is deep bulk — you're paying essentially nothing to try it, which is the most compelling argument for including it. Don't expect that price to move; bulk commons with narrow applications don't spike.
