Rough // Tumble is a two-spells-in-one board wipe that sweeps away small creatures with Rough and then clears the ground of large ones with Tumble — all for a combined six mana across two turns or one big investment. The split structure is the whole appeal: you pick the half that solves your problem, or you cast both and leave almost nothing standing.

Commander is where Rough // Tumble earns its slot — tables regularly run token swarms and weenie strategies that Rough punishes at instant speed, and the flexibility to follow up with Tumble means the card scales as threats grow. In Legacy and Vintage the competition from more efficient sweepers is severe enough that this rarely makes the cut outside of niche builds. Modern presents a similar problem: dedicated sweep effects at lower mana costs edge it out in most fair shells. It's legal in Oathbreaker, where the smaller card pool and faster games give the instant-speed half more relevance than it might otherwise deserve.

Price Context
Current price
$0.29 bulk tier
At $0.29, Rough // Tumble sits firmly in bulk territory — you're paying almost nothing for genuine board-control flexibility. Bulk split cards rarely spike unless a commander archetype breaks them out, so expect this price to stay flat.
