Roterothopter is a zero-mana 1/2 flyer — the cost is nothing, and the on-board presence is exactly what artifact and flying-matters decks want in their opening hand. In Errant and Giada shells specifically, it curves into turn-one pressure while fueling any payoff that counts artifacts or cheap creatures entering the battlefield.

In Commander, Roterothopter earns its slot in artifact synergy decks and flying-matters builds where a free artifact creature generates value beyond its stats — think Breya, Etherium Shaper or Urza, Lord High Artificer, where zero-cost artifacts are fuel, not filler. Legacy and Vintage have access to it but have zero interest — a 1/2 flyer with no ETB and no text doesn't clear the bar in those formats. Pauper is where Roterothopter has historically shown up in artifact-based shells that want cheap bodies to sacrifice or animate, and it remains a legitimate consideration there.

$0.24 bulk tier
At $0.24, Roterothopter is pure bulk — you're paying almost nothing for what is a genuinely playable piece in the right Commander deck. Bulk zero-drops with flying don't spike unless a format-warping artifact commander breaks out, so don't expect price movement; just grab a copy if you need it.
