Roar of Jukai gives every creature you control trample and deals damage equal to its power to any target for each creature that already had trample — all for two mana at instant speed. It's a finisher stapled to a pump spell, and in the right deck it ends games on the spot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Roar of Jukai is a sleeper finisher in any green stompy or go-wide deck that can grant trample en masse — one spell turns a wide board into a lethal storm of damage triggers. Pauper is where Roar of Jukai has the most competitive relevance, since commons that generate this kind of burst damage in one card are genuinely scarce at the format's power level. In Legacy, Modern, and Vintage it's too narrow and slow to compete with the format's density of interaction, but it's technically legal in all three. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander read — if your signature spell or commander already grants trample, this becomes a legitimate one-card kill.

Price Context
Current price
$0.13 bulk tier
At $0.13, Roar of Jukai is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. Bulk rares with narrow applications don't climb without a spike in competitive demand, and nothing on the horizon suggests that's coming.
