Rith's Charm is a three-mode modal spell that destroys an enchantment, creates three 1/1 Saproling tokens, or prevents all combat damage from a color of your choice — solid flexibility for three mana in Naya colors. None of the modes are individually powerful enough to carry a slot, which is exactly the problem: you're paying three mana for the best of three mediocre options.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Rith's Charm is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees virtually no competitive play in Legacy or Vintage — the modes are too slow and too low-impact for those formats. In Commander, modal spells get more credit, and Rith's Charm fits narrow Naya token builds where all three modes occasionally line up: enchantment removal handles a Rhystic Study, the Saproling burst feeds a sacrifice engine or a token-doubler, and the damage prevention can steal a combat step. Outside of that specific shell, a dedicated three-mana removal spell or a better token generator will almost always outperform it.

$0.31 bulk tier
At $0.31, Rith's Charm sits firmly in bulk territory, which makes sense — demand is low and copies are plentiful. The price is stable at the floor; there's no meaningful upside to buying multiples.
