Revival Experiment dumps up to three permanents from any graveyard directly onto the battlefield — including opponents' — making it a burst-reanimation spell that can swing an entire board state in one cast. The triple-green cost is real, but the ceiling is three simultaneous reanimation targets for five mana, which is absurd value in the right deck.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |

| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Revival Experiment is a Commander card through and through — the format's longer games, larger graveyards, and multiplayer targets are exactly what justify a five-mana sorcery with conditional targets. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but too slow and situational to compete with faster reanimation lines. Oathbreaker can make use of it in the same way Commander does, particularly in green-heavy permanent-based combos. Anywhere that demands consistent early interaction — Modern, Pioneer, Standard — it simply doesn't exist.

Price Context
Current price
$0.29 bulk tier
At $0.29, Revival Experiment sits firmly in bulk territory — you're paying almost nothing for a card with a uniquely high ceiling in Commander. Bulk rares with narrow but powerful effects tend to stay cheap indefinitely, so there's no urgency to buy multiples as speculation, but picking up a copy for an active graveyard deck is an easy call at this price.
