Revered Dead is a one-mana 1/1 that replaces itself with a 1/1 Spirit token when it dies — the floor is two bodies for one mana, which is a reasonable rate for token and sacrifice strategies. It's not a powerhouse, but it does exactly what white weenie and aristocrats shells ask of their cheapest slots.

In Commander, Revered Dead earns its slot in token-doubler and aristocrats builds where every death trigger compounds — commanders like Teysa Karlov, Ghoulcaller Gisa, or any sacrifice-matters general turn the two-for-one into three or four bodies for one mana. Outside Commander, Revered Dead sees fringe pauper play as a cheap recursive-adjacent threat, but it's too slow for Legacy and Vintage, where one mana buys far more dangerous things. Modern has better options at the same cost for any shell that would want it, so it doesn't show up there competitively.

$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Revered Dead is deep bulk — grab a playset for under a dollar without thinking twice. Bulk commons at this price point don't appreciate, but they also don't need to; this is a role-player you pick up in a trade binder and never worry about.
