Commander is where Repeating Barrage earns its keep — the format's multiplayer aggression and wide boards make the recursion trigger trivially consistent, and a removal spell that returns itself is exactly the kind of card advantage red struggles to find. In Modern and Pioneer it competes against cheaper, faster burn that doesn't need three attackers to stay relevant, so it rarely sees play outside of casual builds. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for a four-mana sorcery to matter. Repeating Barrage is a Commander card through and through.
