Renewing Touch puts up to five cards from your graveyard back into your library for one green mana — nearly free recursion with real reach in self-mill and threshold strategies. Narrow enough that you only run it in decks actively filling the graveyard, but in those shells it pulls serious weight.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Renewing Touch earns its keep, slotting into graveyard-centric strategies that treat recursion as a resource rather than an emergency measure. Legacy and Vintage legality are technically correct but practically irrelevant — the effect is too slow and too underpowered for those environments. Renewing Touch never made the jump to Modern or Pioneer, and the card pool contraction only widens the gap between it and competitive-grade graveyard tools in those formats. In Oathbreaker, the same logic as Commander applies: it's a role-player in the right shell, invisible everywhere else.

Price Context
Current price
$0.93 bulk tier
At $0.93, Renewing Touch sits in bulk-rare territory — you're paying for the effect, not the card. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to climb without a reprint or a breakout commander pushing graveyard-shuffle effects into the spotlight.
