Renegade Warlord gives every attacking creature first strike, turning a wide board into a combat blowout without requiring any setup. Six mana for a 3/3 is a real cost, but the static ability is the whole point.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Renegade Warlord lives in Commander, where wide creature strategies — tokens, go-wide aggro, populate — can exploit the blanket first strike to trade up and survive blocks at scale. Legacy and Vintage both allow it, but six mana for a 3/3 with no enters-the-battlefield effect is nowhere near competitive in either format. Oathbreaker is the only other realistic home, and only if your signature spell supports an aggressive board.
