Renegade Map is a colorless land tutor that costs two mana total — one to deploy, one to crack — and puts a basic directly onto the battlefield tapped. It fixes mana reliably in any color identity, but the split cost and tapped entry make it one of the slower ways to accomplish that job.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Renegade Map occupies the low end of the mana-fixing spectrum — it works in any deck regardless of color identity, which matters most in three-plus-color builds where basics of each type are all legal targets. The two-mana split cost is the real tax: you spend one turn deploying it and another activating it, so you're effectively a full turn behind compared to a two-mana ramp spell that ramps immediately. In Pauper, where the card pool for fixing is constrained, Renegade Map sees occasional play as a colorless option available to any archetype. In Modern, Legacy, and Vintage, faster and cheaper alternatives make it irrelevant competitively.

Price Context
Current price
$0.46 bulk tier
At $0.46, Renegade Map is bulk — you're paying for cardboard and postage, not the effect. That price is stable because demand is low and supply is high; there's no pressure pushing it in either direction.
