Remnant Elemental enters as a 0/1 and grows into a legitimate threat by feeding on the spells you were already casting — no extra investment required. The ceiling is real in spell-heavy decks; the floor is a vanilla body that does nothing if you stall.

Remnant Elemental is almost exclusively a Commander card — the 100-card singleton format generates the volume of diverse spell types needed to make its counters accumulate at a meaningful pace. In Modern or Pioneer it competes with threats that close the game faster and don't require setup, so it rarely makes the cut outside of niche Elemental tribal builds. Standard could support it in a sufficiently spell-dense shell, but the competition for three-mana creature slots is stiff. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for a creature that needs multiple turns to become threatening.

Price Context
Current price
$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Remnant Elemental is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and nothing else. Bulk rares at this price point almost never recover unless they slot into a breakout combo or get featured in a precon, and nothing about Remnant Elemental's design points toward either outcome.
