Regenesis returns any permanent card from your graveyard to your hand for four mana at sorcery speed — solid recursion, but the four-mana price tag keeps it from being a snap-include. It earns a slot when your deck has high-value permanents worth recurring and no better three-mana option to fill the role.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Regenesis is a Commander card through and through — the singleton format's inevitable card loss makes graveyard recursion generically valuable, and any green deck running expensive enchantments, planeswalkers, or creatures gets real mileage from it. Outside Commander, it doesn't compete: Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage all have faster, cheaper recursion that makes a four-mana sorcery version obsolete before it hits the table. Oathbreaker is the one other format where Regenesis occasionally shows up, since the 20-life clock and permanent-heavy strategies make the recursion relevant enough to justify the cost.

Price Context
Current price
$0.11 bulk tier
At $0.11, Regenesis sits firmly in bulk territory — it costs less than a sleeve and holds no financial value to speak of. Pick it up as a role-player if your deck needs the effect; don't expect the price to move.
