Reckless Cohort is a 2/2 for one mana with a real cost attached: it attacks each turn if able, whether you want it to or not. Run it in decks that exploit forced attackers — sacrifice outlets, combat-damage triggers, token-flooding strategies — and the downside becomes irrelevant.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Reckless Cohort is a niche role-player rather than a staple — it slots into aggressive token decks or sacrifice builds where the forced-attack clause never triggers punishment. Pauper is its most natural competitive home, where one-mana bodies with relevant stats matter and aggressive commons see real play. In Modern and Pioneer the card is legal but outclassed by a deep bench of one-drops with no drawback, so Reckless Cohort doesn't crack those formats. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters for the same reason at higher power levels. Stick to Commander shells that weaponize the drawback, or Pauper aggressive lists that simply ignore it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.04 bulk tier
At $0.04, Reckless Cohort is deep bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a card with a real mechanical niche. That price is stable floor territory; there's no demand pressure to push it higher, but it's also cheap enough to throw into any aggressive Commander list without a second thought.
