Reckless Abandon card art
Reckless Abandon deals damage equal to a sacrificed creature's power directly to any target for one red mana — that's a removal spell, a finisher, and a sacrifice outlet rolled into one instant-speed package. The cost is a creature, which in the right deck is a feature, not a drawback.

In Commander, Reckless Abandon earns its slot in sacrifice-focused red decks that want an outlet that also closes out games — pitching a high-power token to dome a planeswalker or finish off a player at instant speed is genuinely useful. In Pauper, it's a fringe consideration in aggressive goblin or sacrifice shells where redundancy matters and the creature being sacrificed was leaving anyway. Legacy and Vintage have far more efficient options, so Reckless Abandon doesn't see meaningful play in either format despite being legal.

Price Context

Current price

$0.24 bulk tier

At $0.24, Reckless Abandon is bulk — pick it up without a second thought if the deck calls for it. Bulk commons rarely move on price unless a new commander creates sudden demand, so don't expect that to change.
