Reap Intellect

Sorcery

Target opponent reveals their hand. You choose up to X nonland cards from it and exile them. For each card exiled this way, search that player's graveyard, hand, and library for any number of cards with the same name as that card and exile them. Then that player shuffles.

Reap Intellect card art
Reap Intellect can strip every copy of a card from an opponent's hand, graveyard, and library simultaneously — the swing is devastating when it hits a combo piece. The catch is that X needs to be meaningful, which means this card rewards the late game and punishes early casts.

Reap Intellect lives almost exclusively in Commander, where games go long enough to cast it for a meaningful X, and where targeting a single player's key piece — a combo enabler, a commander recursion target — can effectively remove them from the game. In Legacy and Vintage, it's legal but thoroughly unplayable: faster answers like Thoughtseize and Surgical Extraction do the same job for a fraction of the mana, and the sorcery speed means you'll never deploy it at the right moment. Modern and Pioneer offer the same problem — the format clock is too fast for a variable-cost sorcery that does nothing until turn five or six. Stick to Commander, where Reap Intellect's full exile clause is a genuine threat.

Price Context

Current price

$0.24 bulk tier

At $0.24, Reap Intellect is deep bulk — you'll find copies in dollar boxes without looking hard. That price reflects niche Commander demand rather than any competitive interest, and there's no pressure pushing it upward.
