Realmwright enters and lets you name a basic land type, making all your lands that type in addition to their other types — fixing your mana or enabling landfall synergies for a single blue mana. It's a narrow effect, but in the decks that want it, it does exactly one thing and does it on-curve.

Realmwright sees essentially no play outside Commander, where land-type manipulation has a niche home in landfall decks, Domain strategies, or anything that cares about controlling specific basic types. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's too slow and too passive to compete — there are cheaper, more permanent ways to fix mana. Commander is where Realmwright finds its audience, specifically in decks that want to turn a field of nonbasics into Islands for Merfolk synergies or Forests for Forest-matters payoffs.
