Ravenform card art
Ravenform exiles any artifact or creature — including commanders — and leaves behind a 1/1 Bird, making it one of blue's cleanest answers to permanents that laugh at bounce or destroy effects. The foretell cost softens the three-mana price tag, but the Bird token is the real tax you pay for unconditional exile. Ranar the Ever-Watchful turns that liability into a free 1/1 Spirit, which is why this card is nearly mandatory in that build.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Ranar the Ever-Watchful

Ranar the Ever-Watchful

84.5% of decks · synergy 0.81

Ranar the Ever-Watchful triggers on the first card foretold each turn, producing a 1/1 Spirit — so Ravenform's foretell mechanic isn't a cost, it's a second spell stapled to your removal. Running Ravenform here means exile removal that also advances your board.

02
Kellan, the Kid

Kellan, the Kid

61.0% of decks · synergy 0.59

Kellan, the Kid cares about instants and sorceries that generate value beyond their face text, and Ravenform's exile effect handles the indestructible threats and commanders that most blue interaction can't cleanly answer. The foretell option also lets you bank it a turn early without telegraphing the target.

03
Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Hakbal of the Surging Soul

29.9% of decks · synergy 0.26

Hakbal of the Surging Soul decks run Simic and need ways to deal with the artifacts and creatures that green and blue traditionally struggle to permanently remove — Ravenform fills that gap cleanly. At three mana it fits inside the curve without crowding out ramp pieces.

04
Talrand, Sky Summoner

Talrand, Sky Summoner

25.8% of decks · synergy 0.18

Talrand, Sky Summoner converts every instant and sorcery into a 2/2 Drake, so Ravenform doubles as a removal spell and a token producer in that shell. The foretell turn also fires the trigger, meaning you can net two Drake tokens off a single copy if you're patient.

05

Gwen Stacy

16.9% of decks · synergy 0.16

Gwen Stacy decks operate in Dimir and want exile-based interaction that handles the threats black kill spells miss — specifically artifacts and indestructible creatures — which is exactly what Ravenform provides. The Bird token the opponent receives is largely irrelevant against a deck built to go wide or apply consistent pressure.

Format Analysis

In Commander, Ravenform earns its slot as one of blue's few unconditional exile answers — the format is full of indestructible commanders and recursive threats that bounce effects simply delay, and the Bird token is an acceptable cost for that level of finality. Pauper is where Ravenform also sees real play; common-slot exile at instant or sorcery speed is scarce, and foretell gives it flexibility that most budget decks value. In Modern and Pioneer, the competition is steeper — three mana is expensive for a sorcery-speed answer in formats where the game is often decided before turn four, so Ravenform doesn't crack those lists. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more efficient interaction, making Ravenform irrelevant there outside of fringe foretell-matters builds.

Price Context

Current price

$0.36 bulk tier

At $0.36, Ravenform is pure bulk — easy to pick up in trade binders or throw in a cart without a second thought. Demand is steady in Commander thanks to foretell synergy decks, but nothing is pushing this above bulk pricing anytime soon.
