Ramosian Commander tutors a Rebel directly onto the battlefield at instant speed — that's a repeatable, on-demand creature chain stapled to a 2/3 body. The cost is real: five mana to activate and a tap requirement make it slow enough that any deck running it needs to protect it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Ramosian Commander is a role-player in dedicated Rebel tribal builds, most commonly under Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero, where having a second search outlet is worth the deck slot. In Legacy, Rebel chains saw real competitive play historically, and Ramosian Commander can still function in that shell, though the format's pace punishes a five-mana activation hard without a lock already in place. Vintage is technically legal but the card has no meaningful presence there. Oathbreaker follows the same logic as Commander — niche tribal support, nothing more.

Price Context
Current price
$0.29 bulk tier
At $0.29, Ramosian Commander is firmly bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not demand. It's unlikely to move meaningfully unless a Rebel tribal commander breaks into the mainstream, so grab copies cheaply and don't expect the price to do anything interesting.
