Rakdos, the Showstopper card art
Rakdos, the Showstopper enters and immediately flips a coin for every non-Demon, non-Devil, non-Imp on the battlefield — half the table's creatures die on a statistically average flip, and the effect costs nothing beyond casting a 6/6 flying trampler for six mana. The coin-flip randomness is real, but the expected board impact is a one-sided wrath in any deck built to exploit it, making Be'lakor, the Dark Master one of its most natural homes.

Be'lakor, the Dark Master

Be'lakor, the Dark Master

68.8% of decks · synergy 0.66

Be'lakor, the Dark Master draws a card whenever a Demon enters the battlefield, so Rakdos, the Showstopper does double duty — mass removal stapled to a Demon body that triggers Be'lakor the moment it resolves.

02
Raphael, Fiendish Savior

Raphael, Fiendish Savior

60.8% of decks · synergy 0.58

Raphael, Fiendish Savior pumps every Demon, Devil, and Imp you control, which means every creature that survives the Rakdos, the Showstopper trigger gets bigger — the boardwipe exemption and the anthem live on exactly the same creature types.

03
Rakdos, Lord of Riots

Rakdos, Lord of Riots

23.0% of decks · synergy 0.21

Rakdos, Lord of Riots reduces the casting cost of creatures by each point of damage dealt to opponents, and Rakdos, the Showstopper's 6/6 trample body is a reliable damage source that can come down for two or three mana after one swing — value-on-value in a shell built around expensive Demons.

Rakdos, the Showstopper is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it sees virtually no competitive play outside Commander — six mana for a coin-flip wrath is far too slow and inconsistent for 60-card formats where games end on turn three or four. In Commander, the multiplayer board state is where it earns its keep: more opponents means more non-Demon creatures to target, and a single trigger routinely kills four to eight permanents. Oathbreaker is a viable niche, particularly in Rakdos-colored planeswalker shells that want cheap disruption and can afford a high curve.

Price Context

Current price

$2.68 cheap tier

At $2.68, Rakdos, the Showstopper sits firmly in budget territory — a six-mana mythic rare that doubles as a board wipe should cost more, and the low price reflects its narrow competitive footprint. It's a safe pickup for any Demon-tribal or black-red Commander build; there's no obvious reprint pressure that would push the price higher, but no scarcity argument that would either.
