Raise the Draugr card art
Raise the Draugr returns up to two target Minotaurs from your graveyard to hand for two mana — straightforward recursion that pays off exactly as much as your Minotaur density does. Sethron, Hurloon General decks run it as a refuel button after a board wipe, and in that shell it earns every slot.

Sethron, Hurloon General

Sethron, Hurloon General

29.4% of decks · synergy 0.29

Sethron, Hurloon General builds wide on the back of a single tribe, so a sweeper can erase a whole turn's worth of work — Raise the Draugr pulls two of those pieces back to hand immediately and lets you rebuild into Sethron's triggered abilities on the next pass.

02
Syrix, Carrier of the Flame

Syrix, Carrier of the Flame

19.8% of decks · synergy 0.19

Syrix, Carrier of the Flame cares about Phoenixes dying and returning, but the deck's red-black shell stacks enough Minotaurs alongside them that Raise the Draugr earns its slot as a two-for-one recovery spell after the inevitable interaction.

In Commander, Raise the Draugr is a tribal staple with a hard ceiling — outside Minotaur-dense lists it's dead cardboard, but inside them it's one of the cheapest two-for-ones the tribe gets. Pauper is where the card technically competes at common, though Minotaur synergy barely exists there and the slot goes to better generic recursion. In Modern and Pioneer, Raise the Draugr sees no meaningful play; tribal aggro in those formats runs leaner engines and doesn't want sorcery-speed hand refills. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters — the power bar is simply too high for a narrow recursion spell.

Price Context

Current price

$0.25 bulk tier

At $0.25, Raise the Draugr sits firmly in bulk territory and should stay there — demand is real but limited to one tribe in one format. Pick it up without hesitation for any Minotaur build; there's no price pressure pushing it higher.
