Rage Nimbus forces any creature to attack or block — giving you on-demand creature control without spending a removal spell. The cost is a 2/3 flyer for five mana that does nothing if opponents have no creatures worth redirecting.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Rage Nimbus earns a slot, and even there it's niche — combat-manipulation decks built around Goad effects or Fumiko the Lowblood-style forced-attack strategies are the natural home. In Legacy, Modern, and Vintage, five mana for a conditional tap-out effect on a fragile body is unplayable; those formats end before Rage Nimbus changes the board. The card is simply too slow and too situational to matter outside of multiplayer tables where forcing a blocker into a bad trade or redirecting an alpha strike can swing a three-way game.

Price Context
Current price
$0.31 bulk tier
At $0.31, Rage Nimbus sits firmly in bulk territory. It will stay there — the effect is too narrow to attract casual demand and too weak to create any competitive pressure on price.
