Rage Forger enters and immediately puts a +1/+1 counter on every Shaman you control, then turns each of those Shamans into a burn source whenever they attack. The setup cost is real — you need a board of Shamans to get full value — but in the right shell this is a anthem plus a damage engine on a single three-mana body.

Rage Forger is a Commander card through and through — the tribal density required to make it sing only exists in 100-card singleton Shaman builds. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but competes with formats where a three-mana do-nothing-without-a-board is unplayable. Modern has the card pool for a Shaman synergy deck, but the archetype lacks the competitive infrastructure to show up in a meaningful way, so Rage Forger stays a casual-format role-player. In Commander, a dedicated Shaman tribal list will consistently get two or more counters on entry and convert attacks into direct damage, which is exactly the kind of incremental pressure that closes games in the 90-minute format.

Price Context
Current price
$0.32 bulk tier
At $0.32, Rage Forger is deep bulk — easy to pick up as a playset for under $1.50 without thinking twice. It's a narrow tribal payoff with no crossover appeal outside Shaman decks, so don't expect the price to move unless a high-profile Commander precon pushes the archetype into the spotlight.
